Dublin visit - September 2021

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions we were sadly unable to schedule our meetings in Austria and Slovenia in person. Thankfully an easing of restrictions allowed all the participants to meet in Dublin in September 2021.

Over a busy weekend we got to meet some of the young footballers playing as part of a team of refugees in Clontarf, this was followed the next day by our project meeting which was hosted in Croke Park. The GAA Diversity and Inclusion officer, Ger McTavish also gave a presentation on her work with the GAA, which was followed by a tour of the famous stadium and museum.

Later that day the groups also met with James Flanagan, the Disability & Social Inclusion Access Officer at Bohemian FC, in the historic home of Irish football, Dalymount Park. The visit groups also had time to see some of the city's main tourist attractions as well as some of its bars and cafes before their departure the following day.

It was an enjoyable visit and one which everyone was glad to be finally able to do in person.
